Traffic Stop in Frederica Leads to Police Chase, Ends in Arrest

Frederica, DE – Brandon Thompson, a 32-year-old from Frederica, Delaware, faces several felony charges following an incident near Frederica.

On Monday at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force observed an Audi A6 turning without signaling into a driveway on Old Beach Road. When detectives attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated southward, initiating a pursuit. During the chase, Thompson reportedly discarded objects while driving at high speeds.

Authorities eventually stopped the vehicle using stop sticks on Old Beach Road near Bowers Beach Road, leading to Thompson’s arrest without resistance. A subsequent search of the Audi uncovered drug paraphernalia, while two discarded bags containing around 15.06 grams of crack cocaine and approximately 14.10 grams of powder cocaine were recovered.

Thompson was transported to Troop 3, charged, and later released on a $13,204 secured bond following arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 2. Charges included two felony counts each for possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance, as well as tampering with evidence, disregarding a police signal, and additional offenses.
