Washington, DC – A simple assault in Northwest DC is under investigation as a potential hate crime, prompting a call for public assistance in identifying the suspect.
On October 12, at approximately 9:44 a.m., the victim was walking in the 800 block of 6th Street, Northwest, when the suspect approached and assaulted them. As the suspect fled the scene, they made remarks targeting the victim’s ethnicity.
The suspect was captured on surveillance cameras, and images are provided for identification purposes.

Metro Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of individuals responsible for crimes committed in the District of Columbia.
