NEW YORK – An off-duty New York City employee was arrested early Wednesday morning on multiple charges, according to the New York City Police Department.

Brian Frett, a 39-year-old NYPD school safety agent, was taken into custody at approximately 6:15 a.m. within the confines of the 77th Precinct, which covers parts of the Crown Heights and Prospect Heights neighborhoods in Brooklyn.

Frett faces a range of serious charges, including two counts of third-degree rape, two counts of sexual misconduct, forcible touching, endangering the welfare of a child under 17, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, and third-degree sexual abuse.

Details surrounding the arrest have not yet been released, and it is unclear if the charges are connected to Frett’s duties as a school safety agent. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information has been provided by authorities.

The NYPD has not yet issued a statement regarding Frett’s employment status in light of the arrest.

He was arrested once already this year.
