Stafford, VA – A 46-year-old Spotsylvania man was apprehended for driving under the influence after medics observed erratic driving on Kings Highway.
On Tuesday at approximately 10:33 p.m., Sergeant S.C. Jett responded to Kings Highway for a reckless driver report. A King George medic reported following a silver SUV swerving across lanes. Sergeant Jett identified the suspect vehicle, still tailed by the Rescue Squad, at the intersection of Kings Highway and James Ashby Parkway. The sergeant conducted a traffic stop at the Walmart located at 125 Washington Square Plaza.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver, Frederick Frazier III, attributed his driving behavior to foggy conditions. However, Sergeant Jett noted signs of intoxication and visible evidence of drug activity. Further investigation revealed that Frazier had a previous DUI conviction in 2020.
Frazier faces charges for driving under the influence, second offense within five years, and possession of controlled substances. He is currently held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,000 secured bond.
