Three Charged for Knifepoint Carjacking in Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested Lascelles Alonzo Greenwood, 26, of Silver Spring, Alei Imani Cook, 27, of an unknown address, and Dewayne Davis, 35, of an unknown address, in connection with a carjacking that occurred on September 2, 2024, in the 12100 block of Veirs Mill Road.

At approximately 4:33 a.m., officers from the 4th District responded to a report of a carjacking. Investigators determined that the victim, an adult male, had picked up Cook at a gas station in the 12200 block of Veirs Mill Road and parked his Honda Civic nearby. Shortly after parking, Greenwood and Davis approached the vehicle, threatened the victim with a knife, and pulled him from the car before fleeing in the Honda.

Detectives identified Greenwood, Cook, and Davis as suspects through their investigation. Greenwood and Cook were arrested on September 5 near Veirs Mill Road and Randolph Road, while Davis was apprehended on September 11 in the same area.

Greenwood and Davis have been charged with armed carjacking and related offenses and are being held without bond. Cook was charged with conspiracy to commit carjacking and theft and is being held on a $10,000 unsecured personal bond.
