Richmond, VA – Rachael Vindman , a political commentator, activist, and the wife of retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, a key figure in the first impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. Alexander Vindman testified before Congress in 2019 about a phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which Trump was accused of pressuring Zelensky to investigate political rival Joe Biden.
Now, she is in hot water on social media after mocking a second assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump.
“No ears wereharmed,” she wrote. “Carry on with your Sunday afternoon.”
The post was made after a radical left-wing sympathizer moved into position to ambush and record his planned assassination of the former president.
She doubled down saying, “I don’t care a little bit.”
Rachael Vindman became more publicly known following the trial, often using her platform to speak out on political and social issues. She has been an advocate for democracy, military families, and human rights, frequently commenting on matters related to national security and U.S. foreign policy. Rachael also co-hosts the Suburban Women Problem podcast, where she discusses politics and current events from a progressive perspective, often highlighting the role of women in the political landscape.
Later she retracted her message and played the role of the victim, “I have deleted my tweet. It was flippant & political violence is a serious issue. Whether it’s aimed at a former president, the media, immigrants, or political “enemies” & every incident should be addressed appropriately if we want to change the tenor of our political discourse.”

She claimed her own husband’s actions and role in the Trump impeachment trial put her and her children at risk.
“I have sat awake many nights wondering who might be outside. I have known the instant fear of receiving an unknown package or letter. I have had my child ask me if we were safe and if someone was going to hurt our family,” she said.
Her outspokenness, particularly on Twitter and in interviews, has made her a prominent voice in progressive political circles.
Alex Vindman, her own husband, called outrage over the second failed assassination attempt against Trump, “fake outrage” by “the right”.
“There is very little real or authentic in media/ social media. It’s all big show. The fake outrage from the far-right, to score small points & the platitudinous concern from other corners is BS. How about addressing the problem, the pandemic of gun violence and the mental health crisis,” he wrote.
He did not retract his statement. He is running for Congress this year in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District.
