ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A man accused of stealing a cash register from a convenience store on Ventnor Avenue has been arrested, the Atlantic City Police Department announced Friday.
William Flores, 41, was taken into custody on September 12, 2024, after being spotted by Officer Adrianna Petinga during a routine patrol on the Boardwalk. Flores fled from officers but was eventually apprehended by Officers Nickolas Cardani and Anthony Nastasi.
The incident occurred on September 11, at approximately 6:41 p.m., when Flores entered a convenience store in the 3800 block of Ventnor Avenue, spoke briefly with the merchant, then left. He returned in different clothes and, without saying anything, stole the store’s cash register containing money before fleeing.
Flores was identified by police due to similar incidents in 2023. He now faces charges of theft, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice.
The investigation is ongoing as police continue to review any potential links to previous thefts.
