BALTIMORE — Baltimore police have arrested two 20-year-old men in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred earlier this month on East Fayette Street, the department announced Wednesday.
The incident took place on September 2 at approximately 10:24 p.m. in the 2800 block of East Fayette Street. According to investigators, the suspects carjacked a vehicle at gunpoint.
On September 9, Regional Auto Theft Taskforce (R.A.T.T.) officers, with assistance from Southeast District and Baltimore County detectives, located the stolen vehicle in the 900 block of North Eden Street. The vehicle was occupied by the two suspects.
Officers initiated a traffic stop, and following a brief foot chase, apprehended both suspects. A loaded handgun was recovered at the scene, police said.
The suspects were taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged with handgun violations and auto theft. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
