Two Sought in NYC Subway Machete Attack

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a machete attack aboard a northbound “2” train early Saturday morning. The assault occurred at approximately 1:13 a.m. as the train approached the Allerton Avenue subway station within the 49th Precinct and Transit District 12.

Two Sought in NYC Subway Machete Attack

According to police reports, the incident began as a verbal dispute between the victim, a 31-year-old male, and an unknown individual. The confrontation escalated when the suspect produced a machete and struck the victim multiple times, causing injuries to the victim’s arm and hand.

After the attack, the suspect fled the scene on foot and remains at large. The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he is listed in stable condition.
