FORT LAUDERDALE, FL— The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the 600 block of NW 62nd Street. The incident, which happened around 5:05 a.m., left one man dead and three others injured.
Officers from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, along with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found three adult male victims inside a vehicle, all suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were immediately transported to Broward Health Medical Center by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue. A fourth adult male, who was not hit by the gunfire, was also taken to the hospital as a precaution.
One of the victims was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The identities of the deceased and the surviving victims have not been released, pending notification of next of kin and in compliance with Florida State Statutes.
Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting occurred while the victims were driving in the area. The suspect or suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting. As of now, no arrests have been made.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department’s investigation is ongoing. Detectives are actively seeking information regarding the incident and any suspects involved.
