PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, together with the Prolific Gun Offenders Unit (PGOU), announced the conviction of Marquise Alexander for his involvement in a 2023 home invasion and armed robbery. The incident took place in the East Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Alexander, 27, was found guilty at a waiver trial held on Monday, facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including robbery, conspiracy, theft, receiving stolen property, violations under the Uniform Firearms Act (VUFA), and possession of an instrument of crime.

The crimes stemmed from an August 16, 2023, event where Alexander and an unidentified accomplice ambushed a co-worker from a nearby grocery store at his home on the 500 block of Church Lane.

During the home invasion, Alexander’s co-conspirator stole a licensed firearm from the victim, Ryan, and held him at gunpoint. The altercation allowed Alexander to pilfer additional valuables before both culprits fled the scene. Alexander, who was on parole for previous robberies, ceased reporting to his parole officer following the incident.

District Attorney Krasner praised Assistant District Attorney Kelsey Gimaro for her adept handling of the case, highlighting the effectiveness of the PGOU, a unit bolstered by recent city funding aimed at targeting repeat offenders involved with firearms.

Alexander is scheduled for sentencing on October 18, 2024, by Judge Chesley Lightsey and is also facing charges in Delaware County for a separate gunpoint robbery that occurred in October 2023.
