Washington, D.C. – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department have announced the arrest of a man in connection to a 2019 homicide.

On April 27, 2019, at approximately 7:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of an unconscious person in a wooded area near the 5200 block of Canal Road, Northwest. Upon arrival, they discovered 16-year-old Eberson Guerra-Sanchez of Frederick, MD, who had suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, 25-year-old Pedro Alexander Joya Argueta of Frederick, MD, was taken into custody by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fugitive Unit from the United States Marshals Service. He has been charged with First Degree Murder While Armed-Felony Murder.
