Ohio Police Chief Fired For Being High on Weed, Falsifying Time Sheets

New Miami, OH – The Village Council of New Miami, a small town of 2,200 people near Cincinnati, has unanimously voted to terminate Police Chief Harold Webb following allegations of a marijuana smell in his office and falsified time sheets.

Mayor Jewel Hensley detailed the allegations in a letter, stating that Webb only reported for duty twice during a two-week period starting June 2. Despite this, Webb’s timecard claimed he worked 48 hours. Verification with Butler County Dispatch revealed that Webb only checked in for duty on June 2.

On June 20, Hensley, along with councilmen Ken Flick and Matt Stephens, confronted Webb with the discrepancies. Webb claimed he worked the hours but hid his patrol car in the garage from the mayor as a statement, anticipating the confrontation. Webb was unable to produce his daily log and suggested reviewing video footage for evidence.

Hensley questioned whether the job was overwhelming for Webb, who also worked full-time with the U.S. Postal Service and had family commitments. Webb insisted he could handle his duties. However, later that day, Webb contacted Hensley to retrieve the time logs from his office, further complicating the situation.

The council’s decision marks the end of Webb’s tenure as police chief amid these troubling allegations.
