D.C. Man Nabbed for April Shooting on Marion Barry Avenue

WASHINGTON, DC – A significant breakthrough has been made in the case of a shooting that occurred back in April in Southeast Washington. Responding to a call on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 2:20 p.m., Sixth District police officers arrived at the 2300 block of Marion Barry Avenue to find an adult male victim with gunshot wounds.

The injured man was quickly taken to a hospital and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

This Wednesday, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force executed a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, apprehending 53-year-old Derrick Dion Gladden, a resident of Southeast D.C. He faces charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
