Driver Charged in Gloucester Township Hit-And-Run Incident

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins have announced the identification and charging of the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident last month.

Christopher Bucceroni, 28, of West Deptford, has been charged with third-degree Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. Bucceroni turned himself in the day after the incident.

The hit-and-run occurred on June 20, 2024, at approximately 2:27 a.m. Police responded to the area of Erial Road and Blackwood-Clementon Road following a collision between a motor vehicle and a bicyclist. Detectives confirmed that a dark-colored SUV struck the bicyclist and fled the scene.

The victim, an 18-year-old male from Gloucester Township, was transported to Cooper University Hospital and remains in critical condition.
