NOKESVILLE, VA – A tragic drowning incident occurred at Lake Manassas, located at 9030 Burwell Road, on June 23, claiming the life of a 45-year-old man. The incident unfolded around 4:46 PM when police were called to the scene following reports of a drowning.
Upon investigation, it was found that the man was swimming with a family member when he began to struggle in the water. Despite efforts to assist him, he submerged and did not resurface. Fire and rescue teams responded promptly, retrieving the man from the lake. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have transported the body to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Initial findings suggest that there was no foul play involved in this incident.
