Suspect Arrested for 2023 Murder in Gaithersburg

GAITHERSBURG, MD—Jose Ramon Ventura, 24, with no fixed address, has been arrested on charges related to a November 2023 homicide involving the death of 20-year-old Orlando Alexander Satz, Jr.

Satz, Jr. was found deceased on November 28, 2023, after his car collided with a parked vehicle on Spruell Drive. Residents nearby rushed to his aid and discovered he had suffered gunshot wounds. Montgomery County Fire Rescue confirmed the injuries when they arrived at the scene.

The Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division, Homicide Section took over the investigation, classifying Satz, Jr.’s death as a homicide. Investigation efforts revealed Ventura as the driver of a black Honda Civic that was used to transport two individuals suspected of the shooting.

On Tuesday, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Ventura, charging him as an accessory after the fact. He was apprehended by officers from the 4th District on Thursday, June 20, and is now being held without bond.
