Sticks in the Sand Beach Hockey Tournament Set for July Weekend in The Wildwoods

THE WILDWOODS, NJ – The Sticks in the Sand Beach Hockey Tournament is making a return to The Wildwoods’ beaches on Saturday, July 13, and Sunday, July 14. This unique event provides field hockey players of all ages from across the East Coast and beyond with the opportunity to experience their favorite sport on the famous sandy shores of The Wildwoods.

The tournament features five-on-five games, consisting of four field players and a goalie, with a maximum of 10 players per team. Each match is divided into two 12-minute halves with a running clock, played on fields measuring 30 yards by 50 yards. A rubberized ball, slightly larger than the standard field hockey ball, is used for beach play.

Competitive divisions include U19, U16, U14, as well as women’s open and co-ed open categories. While there is an entrance fee for participants, spectators can enjoy the games for free, soaking up the sun and sand while watching the action.

As a bonus, each team’s registration includes ten multi-day passes to Morey’s Piers Amusements and Water Parks, valid throughout the tournament weekend. These passes grant access to Raging Waters and Ocean Oasis Water Parks, as well as all three Morey’s Amusement Piers. Teams also receive two additional days, on Friday and Monday, July 12 and 15, to enjoy the amusements and water parks, ensuring a fun-filled weekend for all participants.
