Corona Man Charged with Rape and Kidnapping of 13-Year-Olds in Kissena Park

QUEENS, NY – Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced today that Christian Inga, 25, of Waldron Street, has been charged with first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, predatory sexual assault, and other crimes following an attack on two 13-year-olds in Kissena Park on June 13. Inga allegedly held the victims at knifepoint, tied their hands together, and raped the girl.

District Attorney Katz stated, “This attack on two children in broad daylight in a city park strikes the very core of our society. According to the complaint, this defendant confronted the boy and girl, tied the children to one another, gagged them, and then raped the girl before fleeing the park. Thank you to the brave victims for coming forward and the NYPD for its quick action in apprehending the defendant who will now face justice in our courts.”

Inga has been arraigned on charges including predatory sexual assault, first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree robbery, second-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, obstructing governmental administration, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison. Criminal Court Judge Joanne Watters remanded Inga and ordered him to return to court on July 1.

Details of the Incident:

  • On June 13, at approximately 3:30 PM, Inga approached a boy and a girl, both 13 years old, inside Kissena Park in Flushing.
  • He brandished a long-bladed knife or machete, tied the children to one another, and gagged them with pieces of cloth.
  • Inga forcibly took their cellphones and raped the girl before fleeing the park.
