Newark Police Request Assistance in Identifying Auto Burglary Suspect

NEWARK, NJ — Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is appealing to the public for help in identifying a suspect involved in a recent auto burglary. The incident took place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at approximately 10:35 AM in the 100 block of Murray Street.

Surveillance video captured the suspect, who was pushing a white bicycle, entering the victim’s driveway. He was seen forcibly entering the vehicle by pulling on the passenger-side door handle. After gaining access, the suspect removed a bag containing two drills, four batteries, two saws, and a cell phone. He was last seen fleeing westbound on Murray Street toward New Jersey Rail Road Avenue.

The suspect is described as wearing a green hat with black glasses resting on the hat, a green shirt, white shorts, and gray shoes. The Newark Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding the identity of this individual to come forward.
