INDIANA, USA – Eight-year-old Louisa Royer from Indiana has set a new Guinness World Record as the youngest female drone videographer, a title she clinched at 8 years and 258 days old. Louisa began piloting drones a year ago, driven by her curiosity and love for science, leading to a remarkable journey in drone videography.
Louisa’s interest in drones started when she received one as a gift. “I asked for a drone as a gift because I love science, and it seemed like a fun way to explore the world from a different viewpoint,” she shared. Her journey took a significant turn when she started using her drone to capture footage during family trips across Japan, Australia, Korea, and various European countries.
Encouraged by her science teacher, Louisa began submitting her work to film festivals. Her dedication paid off when she won the 2023 Best New Drone Pilot Award at the AZDroneFest International Film Festival. Her film, “Dangerous Plants,” not only showcased her skills but also earned her awards at several international platforms, including the Thunderbird Drone Festival and Bloomington International Film Festival.

Louisa was inspired to pursue the world record after discovering a record held by a 13-year-old boy on the Guinness World Records YouTube channel. Her achievement marks a significant milestone, underscoring her talent and passion for exploring the world through drone videography.
