Boston Police Arrest Two in Connection with Armed Robbery Attempt

BOSTON, MA—Two men were arrested on armed robbery and firearm charges after Boston Police executed a search warrant on Friday. James Wise, 64, of Dorchester, and David Jones, 65, of Lynn were apprehended in Brighton’s Chestnut Hill Avenue area by members of the District D-14 (Brighton) Drug Control Unit and District Detectives.

The operation was linked to an incident on Wednesday, May 15, at Cumberland Farms at 148 Chestnut Hill Ave, where Wise allegedly attempted to rob the store at gunpoint around 11:11 PM. The robbery attempt failed when the victim managed to escape.

Evidence found during the search included a Black Springfield Arms .45 caliber firearm and parts of an AR-15-style rifle. Wise faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a large capacity feeding device, possession of an assault weapon, and attempted robbery. Jones is charged with possession of Class A and Class B drugs and attempted armed robbery.

Both suspects are scheduled for arraignment at Brighton District Court. The Boston Police Department continues investigating the incident and urges anyone with information to come forward.
