OCEAN CITY, MD—The Ocean City Police Department is investigating allegations of workplace misconduct involving five of its officers. The investigation is being conducted by the department’s Office of Professional Standards following a complaint received in April.

Three officers have been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation, and another has been reassigned from the Patrol Division to the Support Services Division. This administrative investigation is ongoing, with findings to be reviewed by the Worcester County Administrative Charging Committee as required by law.

Chief Buzzuro emphasized the department’s commitment to thorough and diligent investigations of all citizen complaints. Under the police reform statutes, complainants receive a receipt and can track the progress of their complaints through a dedicated database. The completed investigation will be forwarded to the Administrative Charging Committee for further evaluation and decision-making.
