PITTSBURGH, PA — Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus of the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of two individuals on gun-related charges following an incident in a doctor’s office.

38-year-old Anthony Johnson of McKeesport and 41-year-old Leal Jackson of Stowe Township were arrested this week. Johnson was initially sought for a probation violation related to a 2012 assault conviction involving a minor. Detectives tracked him to Jackson’s Stowe Township residence after discovering he had not been residing at his registered address.

Both individuals were wanted on active warrants for numerous gun charges filed last month by Pittsburgh Police. These charges stem from a 2023 incident where a weapon was discharged inside a doctor’s office on Locust Street, opposite Mercy Hospital. According to Johnson, he was carrying the gun, which belonged to Jackson, in his waistband when he accidentally shot himself in the leg. Jackson subsequently sought treatment at the Mercy Hospital emergency room.

Following their arrest, Johnson and Jackson were taken to the Allegheny County Jail for arraignment. Johnson is also facing a new felony charge for failing to register as a sex offender.
