Philadelphia Police Seek Suspect in Back-to-Back Verizon Store Robberies

PHILADELPHIA, PA—The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division is on the hunt for a suspect involved in multiple robberies at Verizon stores. The incidents, which took place on the evening of May 21, 2024, have prompted a citywide search for the individual responsible.

At approximately 6:45 PM, an unknown Black male entered the Verizon store located at 7110 Ridge Ave and committed a robbery under the threat of a gun. The crime was recorded by local business cameras, which captured a newer model Black Honda Accord arriving at the shopping center shortly before the robbery. After the incident, the suspect fled the scene in the passenger seat of the Honda, which was last seen heading southbound on Ridge Ave.

The same suspect and vehicle were involved in a similar robbery an hour later at another Verizon store in Upper Moreland Township. The suspect is described as a Black male with a thin build, wearing a light blue hoodie, gray sweatpants, a mask, and black biker gloves. The vehicle used in both robberies is a newer model Black Honda Accord with a partially covered paper tag.

The Philadelphia Police Department urges anyone with information regarding these robberies or the suspect involved to come forward. This information could be vital in apprehending the suspect and preventing further incidents.
