Boston, MA – Boston Police have apprehended 39-year-old Joseph Flynn of Brighton on multiple charges related to a shooting incident. The arrest occurred on Wednesday in South Boston, where Flynn was taken into custody without incident by the Fugitive Unit.
Flynn was wanted on warrants issued by the South Boston District Court for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with a dangerous weapon. He is scheduled for arraignment at the same court.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on the evening of Thursday, April 11, when police were called to the scene of a shooting at 142 D Street in South Boston. Upon arrival, officers found a woman with a gunshot wound. She was quickly transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Flynn was identified and apprehended based on outstanding warrants connected to the April shooting. The Boston Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
