TOMS RIVER, NJ – The local school district continued its Unified Sports-sponsored series of athletic events at the RWJBarnabas Health Field of Dreams yesterday. High School East students gathered for the Battle of Bay Avenue, engaging in a spirited game of kickball. The event took place against the backdrop of perfect weather, complete with cheer squads, bands, and a supportive crowd, providing an ideal setting for the Raiders versus Mariners match-up.
The day not only highlighted athletic prowess but also showcased artistic talent, as the school’s ace photographers from both schools took part in their own competition. Jim Patten from North and Allison Goodwin from East captured the event, with each photographer delivering impressive shots that perfectly encapsulated the excitement of the day. Their work was prominently featured, with Patten’s photographs tagged with “JP” and Goodwin’s with “AG”.
The event drew a large, enthusiastic crowd, enhancing the atmosphere and demonstrating strong community support for the students. This series of events at the Field of Dreams continues to be a cornerstone of community engagement in Toms River, celebrating both sportsmanship and the artistic talents of its students.
