  • Driver caught after wild second police chase across Stafford

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A reckless driver who previously escaped a high-speed police pursuit in November found himself in custody five months later after a determined deputy recognized the vehicle and initiated a second chase—this time with a very different outcome.

    Key Points

    • The suspect fled an initial traffic stop on November 18, 2024, in a black Dodge Challenger
    • On April 8, 2025, the same deputy spotted the vehicle and initiated a second pursuit
    • Gloree Belchie, 25, was arrested and faces multiple felony charges, including eluding, drug possession, and firearm violations

High-speed chase in November ends with ongoing investigation

Deputy R. Tully first encountered the driver on November 18 near the Wawa on Richmond Highway. A black Dodge Challenger with no front license plate and dark tinted windows exited the parking lot recklessly. When Deputy Tully attempted a traffic stop, the driver sped off toward I-95 northbound, forcing the deputy to end the pursuit due to dangerous conditions.

Although the suspect escaped at the time, Deputy Tully continued gathering evidence and worked to identify the driver involved in the November incident.

Second encounter leads to arrest in hotel parking lot

Months later, on April 8 at 1:29 p.m., Deputy Tully was again patrolling the Richmond Highway area when he spotted the same black Dodge Challenger. Once again, the driver attempted to flee, this time weaving through a 7-Eleven parking lot and turning into the Staybridge Suites lot.

Though the vehicle stopped, the driver refused to put the car in park or comply with commands. Additional deputies boxed in the vehicle with patrol cruisers, and the driver was removed from the car without further pursuit.
