$50,000 lottery ticket sold in Hagerstown marks third major win in a week

HAGERSTOWN, MD — A $50,000 winning lottery ticket sold in Hagerstown Thursday night marks the third major prize claimed in the city this week, according to the Maryland Lottery.

The Bonus Match 5 ticket matched all five numbers drawn — 3, 10, 15, 18, and 37 — to secure the top-tier prize in the April 23 drawing.

Winning streak builds across the city

The ticket was purchased at Market Lot Liquors, located at 54 West Church Street. The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

This latest win adds to a streak of high-value prizes in Hagerstown over just a few days. Earlier in the week, a $50,000 Powerball ticket was sold at a local grocery store for the April 22 drawing.

In addition, a Pennsylvania player claimed a $156,581 FAST PLAY prize on April 21 after purchasing the ticket at a Hagerstown convenience store.

• Winning numbers: 3, 10, 15, 18, 37; Bonus Ball 11
• Third major lottery win recorded in the city within one week

How the game works

Bonus Match 5 drawings are held daily, giving players the chance to select five numbers from a pool of 1 through 39. A separate Bonus Ball is then drawn from the remaining numbers, offering additional prize opportunities.

To win the top $50,000 prize, players must match all five primary numbers drawn.

Lottery officials noted that prizes over $25,000 must be claimed through Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, either by mail or by appointment.

What winners should know

Officials advise the ticket holder to sign the back of the ticket immediately and store it in a secure location. Winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

Appointments are required for in-person claims at lottery headquarters, located at 1800 Washington Boulevard in Baltimore’s Montgomery Park Business Center.

What happens next

As of now, no winner has publicly come forward to claim the $50,000 prize, and the identity of the ticket holder remains unknown.

Maryland Lottery officials continue to process claims from recent drawings as Hagerstown experiences an unusual cluster of winning tickets.
