Washington, D.C. — A man was found unconscious and suffering from stab wounds on a Southeast D.C. street earlier this month and later died at the hospital as police now search for a person of interest captured on nearby surveillance cameras.

The deadly stabbing happened late Thursday, April 10, at approximately 11:26 p.m. in the 1600 block of V Street SE. Seventh District officers arrived at the scene after a report of an unconscious person and located the victim, identified as 31-year-old Michael Alanzo Jackson, with multiple puncture wounds.

Jackson, who had no fixed address, was transported by D.C. Fire and EMS crews to a local hospital, where medical teams were unable to save him. He was pronounced dead after all lifesaving efforts failed.

Investigators released surveillance images showing a person of interest near the location of the stabbing and are asking for the public’s help to identify the individual.
