The ticket, purchased at the Exxon station on Suitland Road in Morningside, matched four of the five white balls plus the Powerball in the Monday, April 21 Double Play drawing. The winning numbers were 18, 23, 34, 35, 67, with the Powerball 13 — but their ticket held 37 instead of 35, putting them just one number away from the $10 million jackpot.
The husband, a military officer, said the win marks the largest prize the couple has ever landed in three decades of playing Powerball.
