NEWPORT NEWS, VA. — A 25-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a one-year-old boy earlier this month, authorities announced Thursday.

Zai-Twond Perry of Newport News was arrested on April 24 in connection with the homicide of the child, who was found unresponsive at a home in the 0 block of Cedar Avenue on the morning of April 5. Police said the infant was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers.
