WASHINGTON, D.C. — A brazen carjacking in the early hours of Thursday morning has sparked a police search for a suspect who fled the scene in Northwest D.C., authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. in the 800 block of 7th Street, Northwest. Responding units from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived on the scene following reports of a carjacking in progress.

Investigators issued a lookout for a Black male suspect last seen wearing all black clothing. No additional suspect details or vehicle description have been released at this time.
