WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was stabbed early Tuesday morning on North Capitol Street in Northwest Washington, and authorities are now searching for the suspect captured on surveillance footage near the scene.

The stabbing occurred at approximately 4:10 a.m. on April 22 in the 500 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest. Officers from the First District responded to the location following a report of a stabbing and found an adult male suffering from a stab wound.

The victim was conscious and breathing when first responders arrived. DC Fire and EMS transported him to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said the suspect involved in the attack was recorded by nearby surveillance cameras. Images of the suspect have been released as the search continues.

The Metropolitan Police Department has not disclosed the motive behind the stabbing. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
