WASHINGTON, D.C. — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a late March shooting on 7th Street, Northwest, that left a teenage male hospitalized with serious injuries, police announced Wednesday.
The latest arrest involves 17-year-old Ka’raun Foster of Northeast, D.C., who has been charged as an adult under Title 16 with Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun). Foster was taken into custody on April 23 pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court custody order.
The shooting occurred on March 29 at approximately 10:13 p.m. Officers from the Third District responded to the 1200 block of 7th Street, Northwest, after receiving a report of gunfire. When they arrived, they found a teenage victim conscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No further updates on the victim’s condition have been released.
Police continue investigation after two arrests
Foster is the second person arrested in connection to the shooting. Earlier this week, on April 21, a 15-year-old male from Northeast D.C. was also arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun) in the same case.
The Metropolitan Police Department has not disclosed additional details regarding the motive or the relationship between the suspects and the victim.
The investigation remains active as detectives continue to gather evidence in the case.
