QUEENS, N.Y. — A 19-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon outside a residence in Ridgewood, police said, marking another fatal shooting on city streets.
Authorities said the shooting occurred at approximately 5:44 p.m. in front of 1726 George Street, within the 104th Precinct. Officers responding to a 911 call arrived to find the victim with a gunshot wound to the torso.
The victim, identified by police as Kevin Hernandez of 61-07 Bleecker Street, was rushed to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center by EMS. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The NYPD said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
The scene was cordoned off for hours following the shooting as officers searched for evidence and canvassed the neighborhood for surveillance footage and witnesses.
