CUMBERLAND, MD — Cumberland police arrested three individuals Monday in separate incidents involving assault and trespassing, including a man who allegedly threatened to stab a resident with a kitchen knife.

At approximately 9:00 p.m. on April 21, officers responded to the 200 block of Baltimore Avenue for a disturbance involving 72-year-old Terry Rodger Davis. According to police, Davis was initially warned not to cause further issues after being found intoxicated. Moments later, a resident reported that Davis was threatening them. Officers said Davis exited a home holding a large kitchen knife and pointed it at the victim. He was ordered to drop the weapon and complied without resistance.

Davis was arrested on multiple charges, including first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and intoxicated endangerment. He was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center and awaits an initial appearance.

Earlier that day at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 30 block of Weber Street for another assault. Police said the victim reported being attacked by Dennis Joey Bolden, 47, of Cumberland. Officers observed visible injuries consistent with the victim’s statement. Bolden was arrested without incident and taken to the Allegany County Detention Center. He was held on a $5,000 bond after being seen by a District Court Commissioner.

Man cited for trespassing on posted rail property

In a separate incident that occurred at 11:00 a.m., an officer observed 46-year-old Jerry Lee Brown crossing railroad tracks near Park Street in a posted no trespassing area. Brown was issued a criminal citation and released pending a court appearance.
