MORNINGSIDE, MD — A Powerball player in Prince George’s County is holding a $50,000-winning Double Play ticket from Monday night’s drawing, Maryland Lottery officials announced Tuesday.
The winning ticket was sold at the Exxon gas station located at 6500 Suitland Road in Morningside. The third-tier prize comes from the Double Play drawing, a second chance opportunity for Powerball players to win using the same numbers.
The Double Play drawing on April 21 produced the winning numbers 18, 23, 34, 35, and 67, with the Powerball number 13.
Unlike the main Powerball game, Double Play offers prizes up to $10 million and occurs approximately 30 minutes after the regular Powerball drawing. Players can opt in to Double Play for an additional $1 when purchasing a Powerball ticket.
Jackpot climbs as search for $50K winner begins
The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing now stands at an estimated $151 million annuity, with a cash option of $69.3 million.
The Maryland Lottery has not yet confirmed the identity of the $50,000 Double Play winner, as prizes must be claimed and tickets validated before details are released.
Winners in Maryland have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
