MANHATTAN, N.Y. — Police are searching for a man accused of performing a lewd act in front of a woman at a busy Manhattan subway station Sunday morning, according to the NYPD.

Man sought for lewd act on escalator at Hudson Yards subway station

The incident occurred at approximately 9:46 a.m. at the 34th Street–Hudson Yards station, as a 60-year-old woman was riding the escalator toward the “7” train platform.

The woman reported observing an unidentified male committing a lewd act while on the escalator. She was not physically harmed and did not require medical attention, police said.

The suspect fled the scene before authorities arrived. No arrests have been made.

The individual is described as a male approximately 25 to 30 years old, standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket, blue jeans, and blue New Balance sneakers.

NYPD releases description, seeks public assistance

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual. Surveillance footage from the station may be reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

No additional incidents involving the suspect have been reported as of Sunday evening.
