WASHINGTON, D.C. — A boy was hospitalized after being shot early Sunday in Northwest Washington, marking the second shooting in the city on Easter morning.
The incident occurred just before dawn at approximately 5:25 a.m. on April 20. Officers from the Third District responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of U Street, Northwest.
When they arrived, officers found a juvenile male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was conscious and breathing at the scene. DC Fire and EMS transported him to a local hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.
This was one of two shootings reported in the District during the early hours of Easter. About five hours earlier, another shooting injured a man in Southwest D.C.
No suspect information has been made available. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading to the gunfire.
