PHILADELPHIA, PA – A man has been sentenced to more than 40 years in prison for participating in four killings committed for financial gain between late 2018 and mid-2019.
Steven M. Williams, 30, pleaded guilty in December to three counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder. According to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, Williams was involved in the fatal shootings of four men across Philadelphia.
William Crawford, 35, was killed on September 8, 2018, on the 1900 block of Hartel Avenue. Jermaine Simmons, 39, was shot on February 10, 2019, in the 7500 block of Forest Avenue in West Oak Lane.
Richard Isaac, 31, was murdered on March 25, 2019, in the 100 block of East Meehan Street in Mount Airy. Leslie Carroll, listed as 39 by prosecutors, was killed on May 4, 2019, at 20th Street and Girard Avenue in Fairmount.
Attorney General Michelle Henry described Williams in a December statement as a “paid killer” who “callously took lives, for dollars.” She said the sentence sought was intended to ensure public safety.
