STATEN ISLAND, NY — An off-duty FDNY Emergency Medical Technician was arrested Friday night and charged with assault following an incident in the 123rd Precinct, according to police.
Ashly Floridia, 30, was taken into custody at approximately 8:31 p.m. on April 18. Authorities confirmed she has been charged with assault in the third degree.
The NYPD said the arrest occurred near the Tottenville and Charleston neighborhoods of Staten Island. Further details regarding the circumstances of the alleged assault were not immediately disclosed.
Floridia is currently employed by the New York City Fire Department as an EMT. Her duty status at the time of the alleged incident was off-duty, officials said.
The FDNY has not commented on the arrest or whether internal disciplinary actions will follow.
