Upper Marlboro crash turns fatal as Clinton man dies from injuries

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A 61-year-old driver has died following a head-on collision in Upper Marlboro on Monday afternoon, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Crash occurred during Monday afternoon traffic

The collision happened around 2:30 p.m. on April 14 in the 4600 block of Old Crain Highway. Emergency responders arrived to find two vehicles involved in the crash, and one of the drivers, Gabriel Butler, was seriously injured and transported to the hospital.

The following day, Butler succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the second vehicle sustained only minor injuries.



Police say second vehicle crossed center line

Initial findings by the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit indicate that the crash was caused when the second driver crossed the double yellow line and struck Butler’s vehicle head-on in the eastbound lanes.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the department or Crime Solvers.
