SEVERN, MD — A drug and weapons investigation in the Stillmeadows community led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of firearms, cannabis, and cash after officers observed a suspected transaction late Tuesday night.

Suspect flees, officers recover loaded handgun

Officers patrolling the Stillmeadows community around 9:32 p.m. observed what appeared to be a drug transaction involving occupants of a parked Nissan Altima. As police approached to investigate, one suspect fled on foot and was apprehended shortly after. He was found to be carrying a loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun.

A second suspect attempted to enter a nearby residence in an effort to discard another firearm, but was stopped and taken into custody.



Additional arrests made at scene

Two more individuals interfered during the investigation and were also arrested. Officers recovered a second loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun, approximately 58.18 grams of suspected cannabis, and $1,119 in U.S. currency.

Shawn Gary Muldrow, 18, of Severn, and Makai Karim Salam, 20, with no fixed address, were both arrested in connection with the incident. Charges are pending related to firearm and controlled substance violations.
