JACKSON, NJ – If you have brush and bulk items to get rid, now is the time, as the Jackson Township Department of Public Works is in full spring swing on their annual spring bulk pickup schedule.
According to the Department of Public Works, residents may place bulky waste at the curb up to 48 hours before their scheduled pickup.
Piles must be neatly arranged and may not exceed 4 feet by 4 feet by 8 feet in size.
Mattresses and cushions must be covered, and access to piles must be maintained.
Items accepted for curbside collection include furniture, appliances, bedding, pool covers, and metal — provided all materials are generated by the homeowner.
The township emphasized that curbside service is not intended for landlords emptying entire properties.
Dark plastic bags, construction debris, electronics, hazardous waste, cardboard boxes, and materials such as masonry or paint are strictly prohibited from curb placement.
Smaller broken items like toys, bulbs, and glass must be disposed of with regular household garbage.
Recycling center and transfer station options
Residents who miss scheduled pickup dates may use the township’s recycling center on Don Connor Blvd or bring brush materials to the Vista Center at 334 Jackson Mills Road.
The compost site, also at the Vista Center location, accepts brush, twigs, branches, leaves, and small trees — but not grass, dirt, or hazardous waste.
The municipal transfer station is open Friday through Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and allows only Jackson residents with valid ID.
No commercial vehicles are permitted, and residents are limited to three trips per day with trailers no larger than 6 feet by 8 feet.
