Firearms allegedly waved at restaurant patrons

At around 9:56 p.m. on April 9, troopers were dispatched to the McDonald’s at 18733 Sussex Highway following reports that individuals in a white vehicle were allegedly displaying guns toward patrons. Upon arrival, troopers found a white Mazda in the lot with three males linked to the car.

One of the teens walked away from the vehicle as troopers arrived. A search of his path through the parking lot led officers to a loaded firearm with an extended magazine hidden between parked cars. With assistance from the Bridgeville Police Department, troopers apprehended the 17-year-old from Cambridge after a foot pursuit. He physically resisted and was taken into custody.

Additional suspects attempted to flee

The 17-year-old from Delmar, seated in the front passenger seat, also attempted to flee on foot. During the struggle to arrest him, he resisted and damaged a trooper’s uniform pants. A loaded firearm was located in his waistband. He also provided a false name and date of birth during the arrest process.
