WASHINGTON, D.C. — A swift police response led to the arrest of a teenager Tuesday evening after a robbery in Northwest where the suspect forcibly took a pair of glasses from a passerby.

Robbery ends with quick arrest

The robbery happened in broad daylight when the suspect approached the victim and snatched eyeglasses directly off their face before running away. Officers quickly canvassed the area surrounding the 1900 block of 7th Street Northwest and located the suspect nearby.

Police arrested 18-year-old Vamorin Thompson of Northwest, D.C., at the scene without incident. Authorities confirmed he has been formally charged with robbery.
