JACKSON, NJ — Saphie, a 2 ½-year-old black pit mix with a gentle heart and playful spirit, is searching for a forever home after being recently surrendered to the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility through no fault of her own.

Key Points

  • Saphie is a 2½-year-old spayed pit mix who is fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
  • She prefers to be the only dog in the home and would do best with older children.
  • Saphie is available now for adoption or rescue at Northern Ocean County Animal Facility in Jackson.

Described as sweet and affectionate, Saphie has passed all her behavior assessments and enjoys leash walks, running, and stretching her legs. She doesn’t react negatively to other dogs but thrives best as the only dog in a household. Her occasional excitement may be too much for small children, so older kids are recommended.

Despite her loving personality, Saphie has faced the challenge many black dogs do — being overlooked by potential adopters.
