BALTIMORE, MD – A 26-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Shy’Keema Turner, who was killed during a dispute in the 700 block of East Preston Street on March 18.
The suspect, identified as Unique Thorn of Baltimore, was apprehended without incident in Ohio on April 3, 2025, by members of the U.S. Marshals Service and Baltimore detectives. Thorn is currently awaiting extradition back to Maryland, where she will face charges including First Degree Murder.
On the evening of March 18 at approximately 5:56 p.m., Central District patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found Turner, 31, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the two individuals. Details on the nature of the conflict have not been released.
Thorn will be returned to Baltimore for prosecution following the extradition process.
