ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP, PA — A rainy morning didn’t stop residents from lining up Saturday at the Boston Spectrum for a satellite Pennsylvania License to Carry a Firearm (LTCF) event hosted by the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office.
Key Points
- Satellite gun permit event held in Elizabeth Township until 3 p.m. Saturday
- Applicants must bring completed form, valid ID, and $20 cash
- Event organized for those unable to reach the downtown courthouse on weekdays
The one-day event, running until 3 p.m., allows attendees to apply for or renew their license to carry a firearm without having to travel downtown. Sheriff Kevin Kraus said the outreach is designed for residents who can’t access the courthouse during regular weekday hours.
Despite wet conditions early in the day, the turnout remained steady as applicants arrived with completed forms, proper identification, and the $20 fee required for processing.
Community support and logistics

The Elizabeth Township Fire Department provided use of the Boston Spectrum venue, while the Elizabeth Township Police Department assisted with logistics and security throughout the day.
Organizers reminded attendees that only cash payments are accepted and encouraged participants to arrive with paperwork completed in advance to streamline processing.
